My childhood neighborhood.

This week I chose writing prompt 1.) Your childhood neighborhood.

Cimarron is the name of my childhood neighborhood,we lived there since I was 5 yrs old.
It was a very nice and quiet place to live,no bad neighbors, nothing out of the ordinary just
a typical small community.Every one was able to be outside, everyone knew each other, all
was picture perfect.I remember one neighbor the most Mr.Gandy our local tv repair man
he was the best he gave us a microwave that up until last year gave up on my mom. That's
fairly about 9 years that thing stayed with us ,he fixed all our tv's when hey would go out.
He was a really nice and handy neighbor to have, plus he  was good friends with my dad.
Where ever you are Mr.Gandy...you were awesome ! My other favorite was Miss Andrea
she is a very sweet lady,  always watching over us and I was really good friends with her
grandkids.I loved living there at the time and I have alot of memories that my sister and
brothers left there. One of my favorite was when my sister and I thought it was a good
idea to ride my bike while she was holding on to the back of my bike while she was riding
her roller blades. At the time we really didn't know that trying to roller blade on gravel was
a very bad idea that would leave you knee scars!!!!! Good times..lol ! But now that I go visit
my mother.....the once quiet family friendly Cimarron is now filled with a bunch of little wannabes
gangster boys that think is cool to have your pants below your ass and wear a big ass white t shirt.
All you hear is nothing but loud music, parties every where and I'm glad to say I'm very far away
from was once known as my neighborhood.I see it now and would not want my babies any where
near there. But as I grow older I'm glad it left me with good memories and I can look back and
talk to my kiddos about the things we did there.Goodbye Cimmarron

  1. Awww! It's such a shame your nice neighborhood has turned into a not so nice place. But it sounds like you have some very awesome memories!!!
